Fiserv, Inc. (NYSE: FI), a top global company providing payment and financial services technology, has announced a remarkable shift in its program.
The announcement revealed that Takis Georgakopoulos will become a member of the Management Committee and Executive Vice President on September 3, 2024.
Fiserv Wants To Create Value For Their Clients
Georgakopoulos will team up with the Fiserv executive team to improve client results and provide top-notch technology throughout the company. Georgakopoulos is a skilled business leader with experience in payment solutions and merchant services.
He recently served as Global Head of Payments at J.P. Morgan, where he managed all parts of the business, including operations, sales, product, and technology.
The Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv, Frank Bisignano, expressed excitement about having Takis join the Fiserv team.
He stated that Takis’s vast experience in payments and leadership, along with his operational skills, will greatly strengthen the team. As Fiserv keeps focusing on creating value for clients, the firm is also investing in its services, products, and people.
Takis Georgakopoulos is joining Fiserv from J.P. Morgan, where he has held various leadership roles since 2007. Most recently, he was a member of the Operating Committee and led J.P. Morgan Payments. He provided merchant services and treasury to small and medium-sized businesses, e-commerce retailers, governments, financial institutions, and corporate clients.
Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer and global head of MNC Coverage at J.P. Morgan’s Global Corporate Bank. He also held the position as the head of Strategy and Chief of Staff for the Corporate & Investment Bank. Georgakopoulos began at J.P. Morgan as head of Corporate Strategy.
Fiserv Aims To Deliver Top-Notch Solutions To Its Clients
Georgakopoulos was a partner at McKinsey & Company in New York before joining J.P. Morgan. There he advised major banks and asset managers and also helped pioneer McKinsey’s Asset Management practice.
Georgakopoulos earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science, followed by an MA in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University. He got his Ph.D. in Mathematical Economics from the National Technical University of Athens. He is currently a board member at Columbia University’s Neuroscience Institute and Business School.
