SoMon is a Web3 forum that seeks to give users control over their content and connections. The platform has rolled out its app on Base, and in just 14 days, it has already had over 300,000 transactions on the blockchain. This high figure makes it the fastest-growing and most active social application in the Web3 world.

SoMon, called Social Monster, enables users to earn money and build communities (Tribes) about their favorite fandoms, creators, passions, and topics. It is the inaugural app created on OpenSocial Protocol, which helps build social apps, and it’s also the inaugural Web3 social application that doesn’t require gas fees. This means it’s easier for people outside the crypto world to join and use it.

Users Can Build Tribes Using Tools And NFT Technology

The community is expanding fast, boasting more than 2 million interactions among over 300 different Tribes (communities) and a userbase of over 80,000

The Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of SoMon, Sean Tao, gave his opinion about the new feature. He said that Cryptocurrency is all about having a community, but the platform wants users to build their communities instead of creating one for them. He added that SoMon is a space made by users where people can connect while benefiting from their social success.

After introducing the new feature last month, users could create their tribes with different tools and NFT technology. Users produce content, and the platform earns money through a feature called ‘Megaphone.’ This tool lets users pay to promote their content, and the money earned is shared with Tribe owners and other people involved.

The Platform Seeks To Boost The Community Economy And Prevent Bot Activity

SoMon is in its inaugural season, which will end on July 31 this year. In this period, users will be allowed to compete against each other to earn points. They can get these points by engaging in various activities on the platform.

They can also earn badges by moving up to higher leagues. When the season ends, SoMon will officially introduce its token named $OwO, which will be given to users through an airdrop at the close of the opening season.

The first airdrop will occur on August 1, 2024, and 3% of the token’s total supply will be airdropped, while 1% will be set aside for the following seasons.

In the forthcoming seasons, SoMon plans to boost the community economy with the Tribe Summer program, which allows users to build and interact with their communities without bots.
