BlockDAG has once again created headlines with its second major football deal, now teaming up with the famous Italian team Inter Milan. Even though the exact amount of the deal was not disclosed, it was called a “multi-million dollar sponsorship deal.”

The sponsorship agreement with Inter Milan occured shortly after BlockDAG invested $10 million to join forces with Borussia Dortmund (BVB), a major German football team. It was Inter Milan’s second crypto agreement for the club, having previously partnered with Gate.io as its sleeve sponsor.

BlockDAG Will Advertise At Inter Milan’s San Siro stadium

The Chief Executive Officer of BlockDAG, Antony Turner gave his opinion about the new sponsorship deal with the Italian football giant. He noted that this partnership improves the brand and makes the company a leader in using blockchain in popular sports.

As part of the agreement, BlockDAG will get opportunities to advertise in the stands and on the screens at Inter Milan’s San Siro stadium, which holds 75,817 people. The branding will be visible on the large screen and LED wall ads will appear at Inter Milan’s home games.

The crypto company will also advertise its brand on the club’s official social media accounts, which will highlight star players. Inter Milan boasts 32 million Facebook followers, 12.5 million Instagram followers, 3 million Twitter followers, and 1.44 million YouTube subscribers.

Inter Milan, established in 1908, is one of Italy’s top football teams and won the domestic league title last season. The team also competes in the Champions League. BlockDAG’s collaboration appears to focus primarily on the domestic league, aside from social media exposure.

BlockDAG Aims To Increase Its Presence In The Sports And Crypto Markets

Turner stated that partnering with Inter Milan, a club with a rich history and large fanbase, marks a major achievement for BlockDAG. He noted that it is an honor to support such an iconic football team both on and off the field.

At the start of the 2024-25 football season, several other crypto firms have signed new agreements and renewed old ones. Notable deals include Coinbase extending its agreement with BVB, Polkadot sponsoring Inter Miami, and Crypto.com partnering with the UEFA Champions League.

The BlockDAG and Inter Milan agreement highlights the growing commercial link between blockchain and football. This trend extends beyond Inter Milan, reflecting a broader pattern in sports.

Similar agreements involve Manchester United collaborating with Tezos and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys joining forces with Blockchain.com. Recently, BlockDAG also formed a partnership with another top European football club.
