Fiserv Adds Former JPMorgan Payments Leader Georgakopoulos to Team

Fiserv, Inc., a top company providing payment and financial services technology, shared that Takis Georgakopoulos will become a Senior Advisor and Executive Vice President. He will also become a member of the Management Committee starting on September 3, 2024.

Georgakopoulos will team up with the Fiserv leaders to create positive results for clients and provide top-quality technology throughout the company. Georgakopoulos is a skilled business leader with knowledge of merchant services and payment solutions.

Fiserv Aims To Continue Focusing On Creating Value For Its Clients

The Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv, Frank Bisignano, stated they are happy to have Takis join the Fiserv team. He added that Takis’s vast experience in payments and leadership will be a great addition to their strong team. As Fiserv keeps focusing on creating value for its clients, the firm will also invest in its services, products, and people.

Takis Georgakopoulos comes to Fiserv from J.P. Morgan, where he held various leadership roles since 2007. Recently, he was part of the company’s Operating Committee. He also led J.P. Morgan Payments, which provides treasury and merchant services to small and medium-sized businesses, e-commerce retailers, governments, financial institutions, and corporate clients.

Before that job, he worked as the head of Strategy and Chief of Staff for the Corporate & Investment Bank. Georgakopoulos also held the role of the global head and Chief Financial Officer of MNC Coverage at J.P.

Morgan’s Global Corporate Bank. He began his career at J.P. Morgan as head of Corporate Strategy. Before 2007, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company in New York, where he gave advice to big U.S. and European financial institutions.

Georgakopoulos’ Academic Journey And Professional Achievements

Georgakopoulos got his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He then got an M.A. in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Mathematical Economics from the National Technical University of Athens. He is currently on the boards of Columbia University’s Neuroscience Institute and Business School.
