Interactive Brokers Appoints Graeme Farrell As Its New Director

Interactive Brokers Limited has appointed Graeme Farrell as the firm’s new director. The company revealed this change during a recent filing. Before taking on the title of director, Farrell was Interactive Brokers’ Group Chief Risk Officer since January.
Farrell held several positions before joining Interactive Brokers. The latest update shows he was the Global Head of Operational Risk and Resiliency at AQR Capital Management.
Farrell Shares Previous Work Experiences
According to the update, Farrell managed his former role at AQR Capital effectively from November 2017 until he departed in January 2021. He was in charge of handling diverse non-financial risks across the globe. These include business continuity, vendor risk, and operational risk.
Meanwhile, Interactive Brokers said it has extended its global bond services through the IBKR Bond Marketplace. The company noted that customers can now access more liquidity for European Government Bonds, UK Gilts, and global corporate bonds. It added that clients can trade for about 22 hours a day.
Interactive Brokers told its customers earlier that it has included Swiss Franc-denominated bonds, including global corporate bonds and Swiss government bonds, to its list of trading instruments. Furthermore, the company launched 24-hour trading for CFDs on United States ETFs and stocks. The firm aims to help clients to be more responsive to market trends.
Before joining AQR Capital Management, Farrell said he held many leadership positions at JP Morgan for more than four years. He noted that during the period, between December 2014 and November 2017, he took the role of Global Head of Operational Risk Framework. His duty was to manage global risk assessment programs. He also managed the firm’s execution of risk management strategies.
Farrell Spent Almost Four Years At Nomura
Farrell revealed that he also worked at Nomura for almost four years. He was the Chief Operating Officer of the company’s Equity Trading sector in the Asia ex-Japan region. He oversaw strategic planning, operational risk management, and financial analysis.
At the early stage of his career, Farrell became Babcock & Brown’s Head of Risk for Australasia. He held the spot from July 2008-June 2009
Interactive Brokers LLC is a brokerage firm that offers clients numerous trading options, including stocks, forex, futures, options, funds, and fixed income. The company boasts operations in different regions worldwide. It manages the biggest US online trading platform based on total daily average revenue trades.
The company stated that it processed about 3 million trades in each trading day last year. It offers undisclosed and omnibus broker accounts, supporting 200 introducing brokers with clearing services internationally.
