Swansea City want Sheehan to stay in charge for rest of season

Sheehan, who also had a temporary stint in charge last season, helped a Swansea side who had lost seven of their previous nine league games claim two wins and a draw from their first three matches after Williams’ exit.

The first defeat of Sheehan’s second temporary spell as Swansea boss came at Watford – when the visitors ought to have claimed a point – before the Welsh side were beaten comfortably by high-flying Burnley last weekend.

They face another daunting challenge after the international break, with a trip to Leeds United to come on 29 March, before key home fixtures against relegation-threatened Derby County and Plymouth Argyle.

Swansea then face another demanding away trip, to Sunderland, before Easter fixtures at home against Hull City and at Queens Park Rangers.

They return to London to face Millwall in the penultimate game of the season before a final-day home game against Oxford United.
